This is a point that I have to disagree with. Many a times a foreigner is hired because he is simply cheaper as well as having no NS liabilities that a Singaporean is burdened with. They are also younger as Singaporeans have to be 26 to become commercial pilots. India and Malaysia have no national service.
I would really suggest you just let griping pass. Trying to justify it will only stir up more feelings of grievances as I have seen at other forums. Singaporeans are a poor lot, you really need to help us or we'll be severely falling behind.
