Toowoomba .....good sized town (100k), great schools et al, and on the edge of a boom in the Surat basin. I reakon it's the best of both worlds, on top of the mountain, plenty of country town aspects yet some good city stuff as well...good restaurants, malls, cinemas, pubs etc.
Sky trans fly out of there in dash 8s and there are other operators.
