This is not an error message. The message is meant to tell you that you are using an ATA-66 or ATA-100 HDD with the conductor 40 ATA-33 cable.
Buy a ATA-100 cable and see if it solves the problem.
Just as a chance - change the jumper setting to "Cable Select" instead of primary or Slave. If it works you owe me a beer.
