Honestly I don't know if it's part of the syllabus for PPL Training, I understand that you can try once (without landing) to see how to handle an emergency situation. In Alaska, around Anchorage, there are a lot of small planes able to land within very short distances, you can see these guys landing everywhere!!! Landing on a normal road must be for an emergency situation I guess.
