Flightglobal reports on the first LH 747-8 service FRA-IAD, that the aircraft burned 80 tons for what was 2 minutes short of an 8 hour flight. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out a rough average burn per hour.
Out of nothing but curiosity, I was wondering how that compares to the A380, and would like to ask here if someone might have an answer. Am aware it'll vary with ZFW and sector length, hence the request for just a very rough number. And since I'm basing the 747 number on a statistical sample of 1 (one), surely it can't get much worse
