Here’s the basic math as it relates to the Boeing 737 fleet. Jet is parking either 4 or 5 jets. With a crewing of 5 crews per aircraft, that translates to an excess of 20 to 25 captains.
Remember the reason why expats are needed? To fulfill a need until the local talent is qualified to assume their command in the jet. Well with the parking of jets and upgrading of F/Os to the left seat, that means the services of 20 to 25 expats are no longer required.
