Those photos certainly bring back a few memories, the DAT DC-6B being the most spectacular. Not a good idea to retract the gear (although only the nosegear retracted) while still on the take-off roll, although they did a good job keeping it on the centreline and even had 5 yards of runway to spare! Both the Hermes and the Viscount accidents were the result of aquaplaning in the days when a slick tarmac runway was considered acceptable.
