One thing that Angus did whilst he was CDF in 2010 that impressed me, was to take time out of his busy day to ring one of his controllers, who only had a few weeks to live and thank him for his years of service and effort. They had a lengthy chat about all kinds of things.
Not many CEO's / company chiefs would bother to do that.
