I don't suppose the cuts and privatization could have anything to do with frustration at perpetuated neanderthal working practices (like overtime and banging on about index linked pensions) , grievous inefficiency at all levels and insanely bureaucratic multi-duplicated admin (ie multiple local constabularies) that the police chiefs resolutely refuse to address?
Not to mention the breathtaking uselessness of the force in general as far as the public (victims) are concerned?
That's not to say that the same approach shouldn't be taken in Council and Whitehall land but then turkeys don't vote for Christmas, do they?
Privatization isn't the answer, it will be a disaster, but then if the dinosaur refuses to evolve what else can they do?
