Have you seen the bond, or 'Bank Guarantee' as they call it, which has just been published?
Bank Guarantee:
The pilot will be required to have a bank guarantee in place prior to starting on this contract, this will reduce by 10,000 Euros each completed year of contract. The bank guarantee will only be acted upon if the pilot is not successful at completing the full contract.
Current B-777 Pilots
• No bank guarantee will be required.
Current B767,757 or 737 Pilots
• A bank guarantee of 30,000 Euros will be required.
All others Type rated Pilots
• A bank guarantee of 40,000 Euros will be required.
Eye watering! I know that it's a new aircraft type, and that Norwegian will probably feel that they are taking a bit of a risk, but that amount of money is staggering, particularly in relation to the salary, and the other terms and conditions.
