Additional revenue through getting more people to cough up money for food? Sounds great. The current layout doesn't entice me to purchase food. Going through the departures at least 6 times per year since 2008, I only ever ate there twice and I'm sure that's reflective of most passengers. Not ideal.
Is the "multi-storey" car park that they put a tender out for still going ahead? If so, any idea when?
