I own and regularly fly a T28D the gear locks are MECHANICAL operated by a bloody big gear lever on the left of the panel, the only electrical required by the gear is the Hydraulic Actuator Solenoid which is always in on the ground or indeed any time the gear is selected down, the indication micro swithhes for the dolls eyes and the throttle retard horn and light in the handle.

The operation of the gear is completely hydraulic by sequencing valves, the down locks are overcentre struts and the uplocks are mechanical.

Emergency extension requires no Hydraulics or electrics, the bloody big gear selector operates the uplocks and the mains free fall the nose is helped by a really big spring.

So any tought that an electrical fault could retract the gear is fanciful nonsense from those whoare not familiar with the T28 systems.
