You don't lift off when everything went black. It's illegal and very unresponsible. If you're 5 minutes flying from the nearest airport that's probably a 7.5 miles walk at the most. You should have been prepared when flying in hostile terrain bringing at least water, but you do need to bring survival equipment. You always need a plan B and C.
