When we think that most modern airports feature GMC/SMC/SMR incarnations of some sort, it's easy to understand how such call, even if previously contemplated, would now be redundant and just "frequency time consuming".
However, surely the same reasoning would apply to the "vacated sensitive" area call and that one is still current in most places I fly into...
