Sadly it seems so Andy, to cut costs, solar cells are getting much thinner, more brittle and of less substance. Manufacturing costs are shaved at every stage of manufacture in order to offer the end product at a compeditive price.

Unfortunately the government dictated that the power companies must buy solar power from consumers at the retail price or higher. For just compensation the power companies were then allowed to charge everyone more. Much more ... In fact we pay more per kWh than most other folk in the western world and Jooliars tax will add more again.
