Mildura is about the only route out of Melbourne for a 50+ seat turboprop that will possibly turn a profit. All the others that are already not serviced by jets are 30 seat or less and the northern Tassie routes are too close to Launceston to attract many away from the low cost large jets. Mildura could easily be crewed from a CB base with overnights. Melbourne base would be easier of course but then would need additional destinations from Mel to make it work.
