Broxbourne was the airfield where "The Mad Major" hired his aircraft for his flight under 15 bridges across the Thames in 1953. He was prosecuted and had to pay costs of 10 guineas and lost his licence for a year (although he got it back after 7 months), but he was not actually convicted. More info on Broxbourne can be found
