The ME airlines offer, housing, schooling, residence, the opportunity to not have to live in "Delsey Estates"...if one does not choose to live abroad, but rather commute, then other areas of the world are best pursued....
As mentioned above, quite often the "commute schedules" are often more fatiguing than residing in one's host country....that being said, most folks I know here in the Gulf seem to have a reasonable amount of chances to return to "home country", with the opportunity to have a normal family life (as normal as aviation gets anyway) when resident "in country".....
