My source for the picture was 'The Army in the Air - The History of the Army Air Corps' by Sir A Farrar-Hockley which in turn credits the Museum of Army Flying.
The text of the book makes no specific reference to the surrender of Kiel airfield. Indeed the activities of the AAC in Europe in 1945 are covered in very general terms in just one page.
