Plenty of guys in the raaf waiting for the phone call. 500-2000hrs command multi-engine (big) aircraft, overseas experience, deployments etc.
On of my mates says he will probably get a job with Rex on $40k (down from $120 in raaf) to stay flying rather than do his crappy job in the cube farm.
Not just fresh ATPL students Struggling
Plenty of guys like this in GA. A mate just got a jet gig with an LCC. He had 3000 TT, 2000 ME command, and was a Turboprop regional check/training captain when he applied. He still had to pay $40k for the 'privilege' of working for this new company. Worse still, he must take a pay cut and be based overseas (you guess the airline). Airlines do not give a rats about deployments or overseas experience anymore, they just want bums on seats and minimal liability.
