In the instances I am aware of involving PPRuNe I don't think there was ever any intention of defamation action.
I believe the site publishers
may have advised the affected PPRuNe users but I never had that confirmed. They certainly advised the affected Mod. I don't know the outcomes but assume loss of employment
may have occurred.
The action did not directly involve D&G Forums but did involve some Australians.
