Due to extreme bad luck with the weather, two schools going bust, full time job and funds, it took me around two years to finish off my PPL.
It seemed at the time everyone was completing it in a few months.
As everyone else says, enjoy it and don't worry how long it's taking.
If you can, try and go for a couple of flights with a PPL pilot, they are usually glad of the company and, if you take your charts, it can help you out with your nav.

Have to admit, would still like to take the CPL route myself...well, there's no harm in dreaming...
