A really good pen.
Seriously leathermans are great
I absolutely agree on the pen; as well as a soft pencil for when even that won't work, and a chinagraph or a felt tip for when I need to write on an aeroplane itself.
But personally, I have yet to be convinced that a leatherman is as good as my Swiss Champ.
