The rape of Qantas crews is because it has been made very clear that there is no career in any real sense inside Qf. Which is appalling.
Thanks for answering the question - although I have heard $24k for 2 days work (negotiated on days off). Sorry for my misconception, I didn't know there was a Jet* conditions thread (laziness I guess) and I felt it was on topic because it is the most convenient/easiest way for a QF S/O to actually GET promoted (or get a 'real' flying job). The money does not seem too bad.
Unless things change dramatically in Qf I can see absolutely no hope of recruitment either - for what it is worth.
