I want to make clear at this point that we're not talking about control inputs of a magnitude to effect 5000fpm descent rate immediately, simply that this is the value the software uses in certain configurations. Lower to the ground, you'll see -1500 appear in the window for a split second as corrections are applied, but you don't start descending at 1500fpm.
