Disorientation and incoherent speech need not be a sign of mental disorder. Very often it’s about brain blood vessels – a stroke, a TIA, a couple of more rare reasons – some part of the brain does not have adequate supply of blood and the person acts weird (and it really does look as if one were mad). Or some obstruction in the blood vessels of the neck.
Thus a bit early to declare him insane.
