Qantas' BKK-LHR and HKG-LHR now withdrawn

Qantas has just operated its final QF29 HKG-LHR and QF1 BKK-LHR services.

Competitively, Qantas/BA have weakened their position on the Kangaroo route; despite collectively having the largest market-share on the route, QF/BA offer fewer departure time choices than their major competitors. For example, in the Australia-UK direction, they are the only major player to NOT offer a night-time flight towards London:

Similarly, in the UK-Australia direction, they lack the daylight flight that all other major competitors provide.

I've written a short analysis of the situation here, which also examines how Qantas could re-jig their HKG schedule to restore these departure times:

Qantas – fewer flights, less choice to London « I like to get around

Anecdotally, how did the old QF32 (daylight LHR-SIN-SYD) perform relative to the other LHR-Australia services?

As an aside, as of this week, there will be no more Qantas B747s operating to either LHR or MEL.
