In that case I believe it might be easier...
Get in touch with the FAA registration office, explain what you need to do and it probs will be OK to simply re-register the A/C with the FAA without getting in touch with ENAC!
I did a similar thing here in Italy registering a french aircraft we bough and managed to get all the burocracy done in just over a week
