It gave me lots of grief until I finally decided that enough was enough. The last straw was that, on some BBs, it wouldn't allow the smileys to download with each page. On some BBs, it wouldn't even allow use of font styles, eg "bold", when clicking the relevant button.
So, in general, it was blocking the stuff that I wanted and, worse, allowing stuff that I didn't want. It just got too tedious to be arsed with.
Now for a further bit of an update on that proxy-thingey. Guess that I'm the
proxymoron coz tonight's problem had been of me own making!
The proxy thing really works best when the proxy program is running... :o
Soon as I realised that I hadn't configured the bloodey thing to start with Windows, it all came together. Reloaded it, started it and ... viola! Everything works as advertised. So, ya see, I ain't real switched on with this shyte yet...
