Trojan, ref your piccie #3 at Amberley.
The photo is obviously taken a smidge after noon (local time), because the shadows of
a. The meat filled body bag at front of chopper barely casts a shadow with the sunlight on his back and his front in shadow.
b. The left skid is just in sunlight and the Huey shadows are only displaced slightly behind the chopper
In the southern hemisphere the sun is always displaced to the relative north except for a few days in northern Queensland but never at Amberley.
Therefore the aircraft is facing north, the photographer is to the west of the chopper and the photograph is looking towards the East.
If so, there are/was no large structures (as shown in the background) to the East of the AMS at Amberley.
