Is anyone aware of a case where the head of a countries national aviation regulator is also the CEO of a private airline?
Surprisingly that this is the case in Iran, where the head of the Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) Reza Nakhjavani is also the CEO of private airline called Kish Air:

This is bound to have made the other airlines pretty annoyed and feeling that there is likely to be a degree of favoritism taking place
. Surely it is a conflict of interest to have the CEO of a private airline serving as the head of a national (supposedly impartial) aviation regulator
