I never had the pleasure of flying a Bulldog but had many happy hours of aerobatics in a 160. All about energy conservation as I recall.
"Poor man's Spitfire" my CFI was fond of telling me. An exaggeration obviously but I didn't know any better at the time and loved every moment in that aircraft.
