To aroumika and rest !

Nice try out to bring transparency in recruitment of pilots of every cadre in Airlines. But what amazes me in particular is that some folks crying foul about whole Spicejet Exam conducted recently when many if not most knew about last previous Spicejet exams which ended in same manner if not worse for most of candidates.Even 737 TR exams of Spice has similar pattern of " Pick & Chose "...

So let me put a question to all who gave written exam and apparently failed it along with the crusaders trying to pick up a fight against nepotism.

1. Did any one tried to read previous Spicejet thread on this very section of forum ?

As it should have given some bold answers to those who were thinking to spend fee's on a shambolic exam.Since Spice always had irregular pattern of recruiting pilots since 2006...just ask the cadets and specifically a forum member who is active on various spicejet threads.

2. How many of candidates who got called for exam had a call in first place by normal candidate selection procedure?

My assumptions is like all others who never got a single call from Spice all this years.....only handful of pilots gets called for exam who had absolutely no " push - pull " in HR of Spice.

3. Many pilot chose to sit for exam again this time considering they didn't cleared it last time so main question arises now - How did they even got called again for this exam and still managed to flunk it.

Down goes the money and " Juggad " for those folks...but then again phoenix will rise again from ashes as will this Juggad pilots for next Spice exams yet they will cry foul for all the process.

Here are some of the things we need to address when we write to Mr. Arnab Goswami of Times Now:

1) On what grounds is the spice exam 25k and the indigo exam 18k? Why can't airline exams be free of cost?

Spice charges fee's depending upon " demand & supply " situation. Indigo never charges anything officially but CAE charges for later stages of assessment.

2) With reference to point no. 1, on what grounds did spice increase their fee from 20k to 25k in the recent months? Doesn't this indicate clear money making tactics?
May be Dollor appreciation/depreciation for Spice and demand of pilots trying to find a seat in Spice's 737.

3) With reference to point no. 1 and 2, after having paid so much for an exam, don't we have the right for more transparency and atleast know how much we have scored? (rather than just a pass/fail letter?)
Transparency will come only when selected candidates goes through transparent way of getting called for exams.Secondly Spice never asked anyone to sit for exams forcefully. Its understood that they are getting huge applications for pilot jobs that's why the courage of HR mobs are sky rocketing every passing month........Those who have patience will always stay away from this money leaching airline.

4) On what grounds do spice and indigo call only a limited amount of candidates per attempt? There are close to 5000 unemployed cpl holders in india, why can't everyone be given a fair chance and why can't everyone who applies get a call letter?
For Spice, every thing starts from the table of HR guys.
For Indigo , CAE has a laid down procedure where they select prospective pilots on various different things rather mere CPL.If someone meets those requirements then they will get a call as and when their cooling period is over or for very first time assessment.

5) Why can't spice and indigo have exams in multiple centres across the country rather than just Delhi and Gurgaon? India is a big enough country as it is!
They both are not going for mass selection which AI or Jet does.So less candidates and less amount to be paid for exam hall. It's company policies which you are trying to change.

6) Why do candidates have to pay for their own type rating if they get selected? Airlines in India are the only ones in the world who makes their candidates sponsor their own type rating. We have already spent 20-25 lacs for our cpl training, and having to spend another 15-20 lacs on our type rating is bringing alot of us under huge financial difficulties. In all righteousness, shouldn't an airline sponsor the type rating for the candidates it has selected?
For once its only India where a basic 200-300 hrs pilot is given a job for flying PAX on jets that they can't even have proper control im SIM's let alone flying it manually or automated.
Basic minimums for flying Jet planes or having Airline pilot job is 1500 with ATP's in almost all developed aviation market.
To be honest this practice of charging TR fee's or Line training cost is age old thing here in India where some airline deducting from salary or taking post dated checks while rest will take money upfront.....

Its hard to digest but hey 250 hrs pilot will not even get a looking elsewhere in world for a Airline pilot job.

Now last request to all those who are trying to fight bolt with barbwire.
Do not make your effort inline with those done by frustrated lot of UPA who started a moral policing against those who got jobs in bad time of recession.

And Welcome to Indian Aviation Boys !
