Barit 1 A car with a turbo charger (or supercharger) produces more power due to the compressed air being forced into the intake but does not burn more fuel. Hence compressing the intake air (more volume) makes a smaller engine produce the same power as a non turbo charged larger engine. Why do jet engines require a compressor?
