terms explained

Run down torque . refers to the torque, turning effort to run a nut down a stud or screw, before it starts to clamp flanges or plates together.
Jointing compound . refers to the paste from a tube that is put between mating surfaces of a joint of engine casings or pipe joint so that there are no leaks from the joint , and to stop corrosion between the jointing faces.
