so what if for some reason the BMI deal has been stopped by the regulator. That would mess up the numbers wouldn't it?
No, it wouldn't.

BA needs to replace pilots who are coming up for retirement. They need to fill the Airbus fleet as the pilots who are converting to the 787 and the 380 move off for their courses. Currently the 787 pilots are having to rotate for a minimum of 1 year through the 777 for currency thus emptying up the Airbus in both seats and the 380 TC courses start in Toulouse in the Autumn.

Imagine BA as a 'block' then BMI as another 'block' attached. The requirements of the BA 'block' are relevant irrespective of whether the BMI 'block' is there or not. BMI only bring enough manpower to operate the aircraft they bring with them. No more, no less.
