The really astonishing part is that you can do a night rating without an IMC.
Especially as you're on instruments for the climb out only a few seconds after take-off.
(Note: I've done the IMCr but not the NQ, but I did some of the IMCr lessons at night. There
may be a way of keeping the aeroplane the right way up by looking out of the window when there's nothing to see, but I personally am happy knowing how to do it on instruments.)
