Wrong, I'm afraid. The limit applies if you are above
Maximum continuous power. The clue's in the name! If you are running the power continuously (i.e. without a limit) than MCT is the maximum you may set.
At the time limit, simply call "Set MCT" to the other pilot - if they increase the power to do that, fine, if they decrease it - then you have just passed (that portion) of your check
