More plans have been revealed in our local Sunday newspaper this morning.

-The extension of the North & West Apron next to the Ocean Sky hangar to accomodate private aircraft on Stand 10.
-No further extension of the current main terminal building, however a 'H' shape concourse will accomodate maybe another 10 departure gates.
-The current South Apron will now accomodate airlines rather than private aircraft as part of this pier extension as well as new aircraft stands for maybe 4-5 large aircraft just to the North of this apron.
-New taxiway parallel to Taxiway Delta.
-Extension of Taxiway Alpha to the full runway length with one additional high speed run-off taxiway at both 08 and 26.
-Multi storey car park on, I think, the short term car park.
-Less check in desks and better baggage drop facilities.
-New bus drop off area connected to the Luton & Dunstable Busway.

These plans look all well and good, but surely these plans will make ground transport to and from the airport even worse than it currently is. It is imperative further detail must include improvements to the arrivals and central search area - these areas really stretched to the limit at the moment.

The operator really is trying to squeeze every single inch out of the current airport site. In my opinion, a better option could've been to build new stands on the site/next to the site of the current car park, next to Stand 62.

The newspaper has published a picture, so hopefully someone will copy it across.
