Provident Fund and UK Tax

Hi folks

Just a quickie; hopefully someone will have the answer. Ex CX employee with 8 year's PFund living in UK. The differences between UK and HK tax laws means that some of the info doesn't dovetail together. P Fund was always thought of as a pension in the loose sense but the word "pension" in HMRC terms is much different. So here goes:

Does anyone know if the CX Provident Fund has been recognised by HMRC as a pension fund in the eyes of the UK pensions' system?

Thanks in advance,
