Hong kong is fun if you are single and free of responsibilities like having to worry about schools etc. You're not going to make much without the expat allowances so don't consider it a long term prospect. It is not intended that you should stay too many years anyway, you are only needed as a stop gap until the current bulge of cadets has the experience to replace you.
