For pity's sake, relax.
BA select on merit and merit alone. Not gender, race, nationality etc... purely on merit. Any assertation otherwise is a slur on Lindsay and his recruitment team.
Applicants are listed in a priority list from top to bottom. As the fiscal restrictions tighten then the bottom of the list is culled. If you are above the 'red line' so to speak you're in, regardless of race, creed or colour.
Now selecting applicants for a 'racially/ethnically balanced course' to contain at least one applicant from all countries would be biased as, with it being British Airways' I would sensibly conclude that a larger group from the UK applied than those from overseas.
