Corrections:
1. Vancouver, Canada has ICAO and IATA codes of CYVR and YVR. VC is generally accepted as an abbreviation for Victoria Cross, a medal awarded by the British.
2. "Whale" is a moniker popularly reserved for the B747 aircraft. The A380 usually is referred to as the Gay-380, the A180, or just plain ugly.
As far as Canadians moving on from Emirates, I know that
some take the tax-free earnings, widebody experience, and hot young wife they've acquired somewhere a little less despotic for some contract work or semi-retirement.
Seeing as most of the whining for more Canadian flights seems to come from self-interested Canadian pilots at EK who simply want more flights home (and for some inexplicable reason, Aussies who perhaps just want to see Canada suffer the same fate as their own airlines?), hopefully SEA will ease their pain a bit. There's always a way to dump cheap goods somehow.
