flybean, that sounds about right. Sorry you signed up with contract air, they don't do anything but take your money. any promises are exactly what the direct hire gets but they get full pay from the get go....
The controllers aren't crappy, just not as highly honed as in other large international airports and of course, they aren't nearly as grumpy either and a lot more relaxed should you screw up. Bad airports? Don't believe everything you read. Come with a good attitude or please stay home. Most of the complainers have left and we can now have breakfast without listening to the constant whining.
Cessna, we land the A320 on 1800 meters and we also did that in other countries in my past life so, I really don't think 900 is that short for an ATR. I don't fly one but have about 5,000 hours on other turbo-props and although it's short, it was doable....
