Contacts are everything and that first job is the hardest to land.

Keep an eye on the websites of Ryanair (crap to work for), CityJet, Aer Arann, maybe Aer Lingus and see if anything crops up there. Maybe try WestAir in Shannon or some of the other bizjet operators.

The ground handling companies are minimum wage jobs so that's no fun and you won't be able to put much of what your learned in your course to good use. It's beyond me why people think they are the same thing; they are not...

Get in touch with Parc or Sigmar in Dublin and see if they know of any vacancies, both of them specialise in recruitment for the airline industry.

If you don't have a linked-in account then I'd suggest creating one as that is a good way to start networking with people who are already in the industry. It is sort of like face//book for grown-ups, spend some time on your profile and make sure it is as good as it can be to improve your chances of being noticed.

Depending on where you did your course, you might have gotten a licence, if so then this will open more doors, especially internationally.

You stand a much better chance of landing something if you're mobile.

Good luck.
