Pay cuts for a Trainee Pilot are very easy to implement, nobody to cover the poor guys a**e, but to do it for online F/Os or Capts is a different ballgame.
There are functional pilots associations & guilds that can rock the boat if management does it unilaterally without showing just cause.
Yes, airlines are going through a rough patch because of financial down trends & costs, but if Indigo can manage & show a profit, why not others? Ask airline managements to first do some serious soul searching, as to why time and again they reach such a critical financial situation.
