The original post isn't very clear but possibly he means discontinuing the aproach to a runway and manoeuvring to another (parallel) runway? I've heard it called, visual switch, visual change, side swap and the one I prefer 'the other one'
, I've not seen any official definition apart from similar 'visual manoeuvring'!
At 1:54 in the famous BA038 777 accident video (is this Gonzo?) ATC refer to it as a 'visual switch'
