Is qatar recruitment team in Asia? I am from malaysia and I didnt hear any news from them. I think they are not as strict as EK.

SAd to hear that about your friend. I noticed taht EK takes a long time to give a reply to the application. Frankly, I wouldnt know what to do, whther to wait for answer or accept the offer from qatar.
