TBH I don't think this is good advice because offshore operators expect to TR many of their new hires and the money you save the operator is not likely to be a decision-maker.
be careful about the age. Big companies want to hire experienced pilot, but they will try to get someone who isnīt to old, I mean, someone who can progress and work for the company the most he/she can
Not sure if this is a deal-maker/breaker either. Over 50 with no experience is likely to be a long shot, but quite a lot of pilots in their late 30s and 40s got hired on the NS in recent years.
Right time, right place, right face can make much more of a difference than a TR or age.
