George, the synthetic vision would be a great back-up for night VFR flying. I have gone inadvertent IMC on several occasions flying HEMS. This would have helped a lot. As with everything else, there comes along an IPAD version. I don't know how safe it would be to follow in actual conditions, but it might be worth a look see.
